WinMedia is the new intelligent operator panel that provides a high-level Panel-PC, with pre-installed multilingual Windows XP Embedded and the new OSAI WinNBI interface operator in a network based Windows environment. This gives a user friendly operator interface complete with graphics in conjunnction with 10/510 Light.

With WinMedia, and the new OSAI WinNBI (Windows Network Based Interface), you have a user- friendly operator interface, with graphics, which can be customised with a mouse and "Point and Click” and “Drag and Drop" techniques. There is no need for in depth knowledge of programming within a Windows environment.

With WinNBI it is possible to create visual representations of test configurations without having to insertion of elements such as Axes, Feed. Speed, and G, M, T functions. You can modify fonts and colours, to produce different views each of which can be associated with one or more processes according to the specification required by the application. As well as being based on COM/DCOM technology aligned with the distributed architecture, WinNBI can interface with several CNCs and be distributed around different points of the factory network.

To satisfy all the functions required by a control unit, OSAI have introduced a new operator console , that can be connected to the CNC either through the new proprietary OS-WIRE bus or through the standard CANOpen interface.

NetPC is OSAI’s solution in answer to the growing demand for a compact, enhanced performance product with guaranteed high quality.

NetPC comprises of a PC + LCD Display in very small manageable package. It is versatile in that it can be used as Desktop PC or installed as a wall-mounted unit.

It has an advanced processor with a frequency range of up to 850MHz and is equipped with numerous options such as VGA, LAN, Sound, IrDA, SSD. The LCD display has good brightness and contract characteristics and an excellent image quality, (resolution = SXGA 1280x1024). There is also an optional touch screen.

NetPC is simple to install and it lends itself to a multitude of industrial applications.

To satisfy all the functions normally required by a numerical control, OSAI have introduced a new operator console that can be connected to the CNC either through the new OS-WIRE proprietry bus, or the standard CANOpen interface. The BLink operator panel is the basic product to provide an external operator panel. It comes with a 10.4." TFT colour monitor.

The OPLink is a version of operator panel with an integrated operator console. In addition to the normal manual and automatic functions, it has 6 softkeys with LED indicators that can be customised by the machine tool builder through the machine logic. It comes with a 10.4” TFT colour monitor.

The 10/510i WinLink version is the optimum solution for a Windows environment integrated with the CNC operator panel. It has standard hardware architecture based on the Pentium microprocessor, with hard disk, floppy disk and an integrated Mouse Pad. It has dynamic RAM memory expandable up to 128Mbyte, an integrated Ethernet communication interface, a 12" TFT colour screen and a powerful DLL library to interface with all the CNC functions. All of this enables development through " Object oriented " languages such as Visual Basic and Visual C++, and the SCADA graphic tool which can be customised to the required application specification.
To complete the WinLink’s 13 keys functionality is the “yellow key ", this is used to switch monitor and keyboard functions between the PC environment and the CNC environment.

This is an optional operator console that connects to the CNC through the fibre optic I/O ring.


It has the following controls:

• Feedrate override potentiometer (0-125%)
• Spindle speed override potentiometer (75-125%)
• Incremental jog switch
• Continuous jog switch
• Mode select switch
• CYCLE START, CYCLE STOP and RESET pushbuttons

The intelligent teach pendant (ITP) is a portable console unit that can be connected to the 10 Series CNC system to so that the operator can input and output typical system commands. The ITP is also available with a mushroom emergency stop pushbutton and a “live man” switch to ensure safety when in use.
